Te Iwi Matihiko: A Values-based Approach To Digital Wellbeing

Learn how to live well in Te Iwi Matihiko – our digital village.

Digital Natives Academy is excited to bring you their new digital wellbeing program: Te Iwi Matihiko. This values-based approach to online safety and interactions draws from the Te Whare Tapa Wha model, redesigned for today’s youth.

During this workshop, we’ll talk about the online space and how it can affect you. We will talk about how to better identify aspects of your wellbeing using Te Whare Tapa Wha and seeing how that relates to various aspects of online interaction with a focus on Social Media, Cyberbullying, Online Safety and Gaming.

Facilitated by Marcus Powell

A DJ, a gamer, a tech geek and a coach, these are the things that have defined who I am. After recently moving back to NZ after living in South Korea for the last 10 years, I have started working with Digital Natives Academy to put my unique skill set to work designing educational programs in the digital space, from esports and game design to content creation and digital wellbeing and delivering these programs to schools in the Bay of Plenty region with a focus on sharing them nationwide.
