Alien Invasion

A fun and lively OnTV script to make a news bulletin about Alien Invaders threatening to destroy New Zealand unless the human race gives in to their outrageous demands. This script incorporates dramatic and comedic skills and presentation in its delivery so that the sense of nervousness, panic, and fear around the invasion is palpable and hilarious!

Capital E will be a Covid Vaccination Certificate (CVC) site from 11:59PM Thursday, 2 December under the Government’s COVID Protection Framework (traffic light system).

Operating as a CVC site is the best way to keep our team and visitors safe.

While visiting Capital E for a school trip please follow these guidelines:

  • All adults attending with a school group will have their ‘My Vaccine Pass’ verified at point of entry and will be required to QR code scan to enter.
  • Adults and all students of school year 4 and above will be required to wear a face covering during their visit
  • Hand sanitiser will be used prior to entering
  • Students will not be required to have their ‘My Vaccine Pass’ sighted or verified. This will be reviewed for students aged 12 and over in the new year.
  • We will ask the group to remain distanced from other members of the public or other groups while visiting our sites.

Really positive experience. The students were all engaged for the nearly two hour session and didn't want it to end.

The students loved their day at Capital E! They got so much out of it and came back to school buzzing about their experiences.

We thought it was a great experiment, but it was pretty scary and nerve racking because we were scared that we would mess up.

Capital E was great fun and I learnt a lot. I was the vision mixer and I learnt how to work backgrounds, transitions and animating. There are so many things we could try and so many things to learn. Our video was Alien Invasion we did some mistakes on the final one but it was all part of the fun. Thank you capital E for letting us do this and have this fun experience. Capital E is great!!!!

Capital E is very fun and awesome and it is cool because you can make movies. At the start i was quite nervous because i was the sound person and there was just a massive board full of buttons in front of me, but it got easier once i had the practice. I think the funnest part of Capital E is watching the movie at the end and watching the fails from the practices. It was very fun being the sound person because you could put in cool/exciting music in and perfectly time when to have what sounds going at the right time.

Capital E was very fun and I really enjoyed being presenter. I also liked how I got to be on stage for a lot of the time. I thought it was a really good idea to have a dress rehearsal and then see how that went so that we could find our mistakes and fix then as well as do better in the actual TV show. it was quite hard to read the whole script without any mistakes so there were quite a few mistakes on my part. I am happy that we didn’t stop at the mistakes because that would have sound quite bad. Thanks a lot Kit and Capital E.
