ArtSplash Returns with a successful first ArtSplash Day Out

This August we were excited to be involved in Wellington City Council’s ArtSplash, a much-loved festival that brings together thousands of 5-13 year-olds to perform, create, and explore the arts across Wellington’s vibrant cultural hub.

This year ArtSplash returned with a fresh new look. One of the new features of the festival was the ArtSplash Day Out, an experience connecting students with 51 different art experiences across the city they could participate in at no cost.

As one of the activities on offer, schools were able to visit our OnTV Studio where ākonga worked together to create a live broadcast showcasing their talents in performing arts. Whether acting, directing, or working behind the scenes, they immersed themselves in the dynamic world of television, honing their skills and expressing their creativity.

We were thrilled to see these sessions fully booked out, with 116 ākonga and kaiako visiting our OnTV Studio in a single day.

It was great to be part of this fun day alongside other creative partners across the city, including:

  • Barbarian Productions
  • Te Waka Huia Wellington Museum
  • Te Ara Whānui ki te Rangi Space Place
  • Orchestra Wellington
  • The Hannah Playhouse
  • Government House
  • Te Papa Museum
  • New Zealand String Quartet
  • Circa Theatre
  • Te Pūkenga Whakaata NZ Portrait Gallery
  • New Zealand Symphony Orchestra
  • PAYPA
  • The Circus Hub
