Wellington Children’s Art Exhibition 2022

Capital E and the Wellington Sakai Association present the 6th annual Wellington Children’s Art Exhibition.

The 2022 theme is “What makes you unique.”

Submitted artwork will be displayed in Wellington Museum and selected artworks from this exhibition will be showcased in Wellington’s sister city Sakai, Japan.

Join us in celebrating the uniqueness of our young artists. 

Entries are due by 17 October 2022.

How to supply artwork

  • On A4 or A3 paper
  • As drawings, paintings, prints or mixed media
  • Attach the entry form to the back of the drawing
  • Submit artwork to Capital E Visitor Services at 4 Queens Wharf, Te Aro, Wellington

Here are a few drawing prompts that can help get tamariki started:

  • What are your hobbies?
  • What music do you like?
  • What’s your favourite colour?
  • What’s your dream job?
  • What special traditions do you have in your family?
  • Where are you from?
  • What do you like best about yourself?
  • What’s your favourite thing?
  • What makes you happy/Draw what happiness looks like
  • What’s your greatest talent?

Tamariki can create their artwork either at home or book a spot in our free Make A Masterpiece workshop alongside like-minded young creative artists, guided by experienced kaiako. 

About Wellington Sakai Association:
Made up of Wellington residents, the group work with Wellington City Council to foster social, cultural and sporting relationships between people in the cities of Wellington and Sakai, Japan.
