Letterbox Dress-Up Challenge

Did you know that you have a magic box outside your house?  You really do! It’s your LETTERBOX.

Magic surprises pop out of our letterboxes – a card from Grandma, a letter from a friend, or even a parcel with a present inside. But while we’ve been staying safe in our bubbles, our letterboxes haven’t had their usual fill of magical messages and mail. So how about giving your letterbox a surprise instead?

It’s time to play  . . .

LETTERBOX DRESS-UPS

YOUR CHALLENGE: Dress your letterbox up as a creative, quirky creature. Your postie will get a big surprise too! You don’t need any special materials. Just use things you already have at home – craft supplies, recycled odds and ends, and your amazing imaginations.

Step 1 – Take a photo of your letterbox before you dress it up.

Step 2 – Decide what kind of creature your letterbox will become.

• Is it a person, an animal, an alien, or a monster?
• Does it have big eyes, big ears, or big hair?
• Does it have a hat, a crown, or a horn on its head?

Step 3 – Take a photo of your dressed-up letterbox and email it to Capital E at capitalecommunications@gmail.com

We’ll be creating a photo gallery for your crazy creatures to star in and HANDING OUT SOME PRIZES…

Capital E National Theatre for Children’s upcoming show, The Lost Letter Office tells the story of two lost letters that go on an amazing journey before finding their way home. The show’s tour has been postponed, but we hope you’ll get to see it later this year. In the meantime, we’re creating more fun activities to help you explore the magic of writing and sending letters of your own. We’ll keep you POSTED!
