Who will you create? The hero? The villain? Get your imagination cooking!
Drawing a character is one thing – but how do you make them suitable for use in a game? Combining art and design thinking, this non-digital workshop focuses will teach you how professional artists design visually appealing and functional characters.
This session will show you how to turn your ideas into visually appealing characters, and how to design them with gameplay in mind.
We’ll cover various techniques in short exercises, and lastly design a character sheet to take home with you. This is a hands-on workshop involving mostly drawing.
*Please note anyone who is attending two workshops in one day will need to be collected by a caregiver during the lunch break.
*As lunch is not provided, we recommend using this time to get something to eat.
Facilitated by Bridget Tompkins
Bridget is an artist currently working at Runaway Play, making games about nature. She wears a lot of hats, from concept design through to final 2D and 3D art you see in-game, among other things. She also enjoys painting, fantasy, animals, tea and RPGs.
