Beginning at Te Ara Whānui ki te Rangi Space Place in the morning, ākonga explore the science and stories of Puanga and Matariki. In the afternoon, ākonga create a children’s show in OnTV that builds on their knowledge and understanding, using an in-house script. The programme is a lively, fun, and imaginative way for ākonga to connect the night sky to mana whenua knowledges and their own lives, and an authentic context for developing communication and presenting practices.
