Our weekday programme for under 5s, E Tipu E Rea, returns in February for another year of playing with purpose.
We are excited for our E Tipu E Rea activity sessions to return on Monday 10 February after pausing for a summer break. The sessions will run throughout term 1 for 11 weeks, ending on Thursday 10 April.
This year, our programme includes activities on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Monday
Movement Mondays: Start the week off slow with a stretch and collected breath at yoga with Monica. At Movement Mondays, tamariki learn simple yoga movements and stretches, inspired by the room around them.
Tuesday
Baby Rock & Rhyme: Ideal for babies and tiny tots, Baby Rock & Rhyme with Wellington City Libraries is a weekly drop-in programme for you to spend quality time with your baby through rhymes, fingerplays and stories.
Wednesday
Little Creators: Come along and try a sensory-based craft. Tamariki work with new and exciting materials, learning different techniques to make special creations.
Thursday
Science Jam: Join Professor Inventus as he brings science, laughter, and chaos to PlayHQ. Each week tamariki learn new concepts about science, physics and nature.
Saturday
The programme also includes a special Saturday session once a month, Fairytale Adventures, where Fairycat and Friends give an interactive play performance exploring a well-known story.
Unfortunately Friday’s session Mission Possible won’t be returning to the programme this year. Agent Ali thanks all her assistant spies for joining on her many adventures last year, and she hopes to still see your friendly faces at Fairytale Adventures.
E Tipu E Rea sessions takes place at 11.00am-11.30am in PlayHQ, our indoor public play space at 4 Queens Wharf. The sessions are at 11.00am-11.30am and are drop-in (no bookings required).
