Short Films for Square Eyes
For the first time ever Capital E will be joining forces with SQUARE EYES, New Zealand Children's Film Foundation, to present to you a filmic feast. Bring your popcorn, pillow and parents to share in a selection of short films including Aardman Animations latest offering ‘Shaun the Sheep: Bathtime’ and 2006 Oscar ® nominated ‘One Man Band’ from Pixar.
After every screening tell us what film you found funniest, silliest or saddest then on Friday 28 th at 6pm we’ll have a special awards evening to recognise your favourites.

ONE-OFF DAILY WORKSHOPS
Family Frame-Up - 27-29 Sept & 6 Oct
Create a mini TV documentary about your family to keep for ever. This is a chance to capture on film your family talking about special memories, family mementos - whatever you want. Working in a full studio setup you will end up with a unique family treasure to take home on DVD. Suitable for all ages.

Poisoners’ news - 26 Sept only

Take part in this intensive workshop where you’ll be part of the crew putting together a live TV news show about poisonous plants, animals and creepy-crawlies – inspired by Te Papa’s The Poisoners exhibition. Host the show, interview guests, operate the cameras, costume the cast, be the director - any of these roles could be yours!
WHEN: Junior - 9.30am-12pm daily. Senior 1.30pm-4pm daily

Experience the fast-paced world of short film-making. Using video and still images from Te Papa’s The Poisoners exhibition, and create a soundtrack to make a promotional trailer you can download at home.

Experience the life of the movie professionals for a day – explore the world of special effects make-up with award winning artist Nicole Heydenrijk.
You will make a casting of your face and then sculpt it to whatever you want, to produce a one-off latex mask which you get to keep!

Get artistic these holidays! Join talented artist Sarah Jane Parton on a visit to the City Gallery, Wellington to see her works on exhibition for your inspiration. Then spend the afternoon creating your own art photography using your digital camera under Sarah Jane’s guidance.

New Robotics for Robocup - 24 & 25 Sept

Can you programme the ultimate robot? Using the Fischertechnik building sets, you will programme your robot to complete a series of challenging tasks. This workshop will be a real test of your programming and imagination. Basic computer skills required.

THREE-DAY COURSES
Poison TV– Sound and Screen - 1-3 Oct (SOLD OUT)

Join a TV crew for this 3-day production course where you will write the soundtrack, be a presenter, interview the public and edit stock footage from Te Papa’s The Poisoners exhibition. Then put all the elements together in the OnTV studio to create your very own TV show to keep on DVD.

Stop-Motion Animation 24-26 Sept (SOLD OUT)
( Jnr 8-10 yrs & Snr 11-14 yrs)
Learn stop-motion animation. Over three days use cool ‘Stop-Motion Stikfas ™’ figures, web-cams, blue-screen technology and specialised software to produce your own mini-animated movie. Includes writing the screenplay, storyboarding. This workshop sold out quickly in July, so book early to avoid disappointment.
