The Big Halloween 2007
Hundreds of children and families, dressed to spook, thronged to enjoy this year's popular annual Capital E event. With everything from fairy-fun to face-painting and costume competitions - it was a BIG NIGHT OUT!

THE EVENT
This year's Big Halloween was Medieval Mayhem with visitors enjoying medieval re-enactments and demos in Civic Square - and sorry, the stormy weather prevented us from putting up the Giant Inflatable Jurassic Adventure and the Inflatable Bouncy Shrek Castle!.
Inside Capital E's Medieval Horror Hall offered mysteriously silly spooking, fun and games PLUS magic shows with Merlin and the Lady of the Lake and face-painting with Body FX.
And there were lots of prize-winners for cool costumes with hourly costume competitions.
Watch out for the BIG HALLOWEEN 2008!

Did You know. . .?
. . .where the word Halloween come from? It is a shortening of "All Hallow's Eve" - because it's the evening before All Hallow's Day (All Saint's Day) on 1 November. It's a time when, according to some traditions, the spirit and material worlds blur and magic is at it's most powerful!.
