Capital E OnTV Studio
Real learning in an authentic studio environment
A fully-equipped, hands-on television studio for young people in the heart of downtown Wellington.
It's all here; you jump into the shoes of a camera operator, director, sound editor, presenter...to produce your own television programme.
School groups use it during the school term as a Visual Language, Technology and Arts resource. The public enjoys the technology and fun in weekends and during the holidays.
What happens?
OnTV Studio sessions run for two and a half hours. Each person takes on one of the production teams' roles, including graphic artists, director, location manager, presenters, reporter, and camera operator.
The group learns how the studio works and how to operate the equipment. Then it's down to business, with script rehearsals, costume, picture, and set preparation. After full dress rehearsal - it's, LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION.
The programmes: We offer three programmes for a range of ages and abilities. Each session lasts 2.5 hours.
A full curriculum-linked resource pack comes with all programmes.
