Festival Tips

Join the Festival Club! It is a good idea to join the Festival Club as members get special offers, monthly prize draws and opportunities to meet with artists that other people don’t get. Membership is free – just fill out the membership form.

Booking Tips - All performances require advance booking. Last-minute tickets can be purchased on the day at Capital E, but phone first to check availability. There is no need to book for the free events – just turn up and enjoy!

Seating - All tickets will be general admission (no specific row or seat numbers are given). Please ensure you arrive at least 15 minutes before starting time to take your seats.

Age suitability - We have given each show an age suitability rating, however all ages are welcome to all shows and events. If you think a show sounds like fun to you and your children we would be pleased to see you there. The Festival welcomes babies and sharing a seat is fine, but safety requirements mean everyone, including babies, must each have a ticket. The good news is that tickets for under 2’s are absolutely free.

In some instances, the children will be seated on a carpeted floor. For young audiences, none of the theatres will be completely dark and sounds, whether recorded or live, will be at appropriate levels for young ears.

Show Etiquette - To be fair to all audience members all performances will begin at the scheduled time. In some instances, late arrivals will be let in at a convenient time but this may mean missing the start of the show.

It’s OK to talk quietly and move during the performances, however, please be aware of others around you.

Recording (photograph, video, sound or by any other means) of performances is prohibited. Please ensure cell-phones and other electronic devices are turned off during performances. Prams are not permitted in theatres. There will be designated pram parks at each venue.

Parent Tip - Adults, why not come along with your child’s school or early childhood centre to enjoy a great day together. But, don’t worry if you can’t make it during the week, there are plenty of shows in the weekends too. And tickets make excellent presents!
