Capital E Art Case

Capital E Art Case is a gallery celebrating art for children, and by children.

Current Exhibition - Matariki - MANUTUKUTUKU Capital E Matariki Outreach Programme.

ArtCase is proud to present you the manutukutuku made by the children from Tawa School during the Capital E Matariki Outreach Programme. They made the big manutukutuku collectively along with individual smaller ones to celebrate the rising of Matariki (Pleiades) in the southern skies.

Exhibition

Manutukutuku or Bird Kites have been flown throughout the Pacific for generations. There are many stories of manutukutuku as message carriers, bearing messages to neighbouring tribes, loved ones or the Gods.

ArtCase thanks Elise Goodge, Simon Jones, Lynette Te Paa, Wiremu Tuhiwai, Emma Best and rooms 9, 11 and 7 from Tawa School.

If you’d like to exhibit in Art Case please contact: Morag or Anna, Curators Art Case - Capital E’s Gallery for Children. 04 913 3723 or email artcase@wmt.org.nz.
