Venue Hire
Capital E venues are used for multiple purposes, including launches, theatre shows, team building, children's performances and exhibitions.


All areas have toilet facilities and disabled access. Kitchen facilities are limited however external caterers regularly use these spaces and find they are adequate.
There are seven spaces available for hire:

Main HallThis is the biggest space at Capital E and is available for a variety of functions. The space is approximately 800 square metres in size. Types of uses include interactive exhibitions, concerts, theatre shows, team building, and large hospitality events. |

Main FoyerA popular area for hire is the main foyer area. Suitable for cocktail functions, small functions, presentations, launches and openings. The area is decorated in bright and playful murals including a play area. |

McKenzie TheatreAn intimate 110-seat theatre available for public or private use. This space is perfect for performances, presentations, debates, showcases, discussion groups, lectures or speakers. Hiring of the theatre includes the use of the theatre foyer, which can be used for pre or post dinner drinks. |

E-Lounge A small space adjacent to the Capital E Foyer area. It has a small kitchen area with sink, and fridge, and plenty of colourful wall space ideal for visual displays. |

McKenzie Theatre FoyerThe foyer to the Theatre is a small space underground, outside the theatre entrance. This space is great for small gatherings, parties (especially children), and other special events. A large serving area and kitchenette assists with the serving of refreshments. |

OnTV StudioA classroom size room (68 sqm). Ideal for work functions, conferences, workshops. Tables and seating available. |

SoundHouse™ New ZealandState of the art sound and video production suite, offering a range of musical instruments and computer software. Includes tutor and programme. Ideal for team building and birthdays. |
Capacity: Up to 20 |
Capital E requires a staff member to be on site for health and safety reasons. This is an additional cost to be negotiated based on the functions of the staff member.
Quoted prices include cleaning, security and power and are excluding Goods & Services Tax (GST). Discounts are available on request to not-for-profit organisations. Capital E encourages use for youth related activities that fit with its mission to provide creative opportunities for young people. We are interested in talking to groups who fit Capital E's strategic focus and do partner with some organisations to present events at Capital E.
