Boxes
'Bubble wrapped theatre performance for the whole family '
Cardboard boxes - large and small, square and rectangular, this way up and treat with care - are all the props needed for Peter Wilson, Annie Forbes and Tim Denton to devise a 45 minute 'humanette' puppet show that should keep 3 to 10 year olds and their accompanying adults amused and entertained..." Review by Laurie Atkinson, The Dominion Post, Jan 2004.
BOXES is a non-verbal puppetry production, a quirky and humorous family show using two near life-size puppets, imagination and a lot of cardboard boxes.
On stage, a constantly changing scene is shaped by the two characters, Bernie and Elton, as boxes are used to tell a very funny story about friendship. The boxes become the source of everyday objects and scenes in a way that is magical and amusing. This family show has delighted audiences with mime, music, tricks and surprises.
BOXES is a unique show devised by Peter Wilson, Artistic Director, Capital E National Theatre for Children and Out of Hand Productions, two of New Zealand’s top puppeteers. It has been designed especially for children aged 3 to 8+ and families.
CAST - two puppeteers
