A place for children to Experience, be Educated, and Entertained!

Capital E is managed by the Wellington Museums Trust, a charitable trust, which is the umbrella organisation for a vibrant grouping of arts, cultural and heritage attractions.

With major funding support from Wellington City Council, it operates and manages Capital E, City Gallery Wellington, Museum of Wellington, Wellington Cable Car Museum and Colonial Cottage Museum, and manages the New Zealand Cricket Museum jointly with the NZ Cricket Museum Trust.

Capital E has an amazing array of people with a depth and diversity of skills and experience in technology, performance, education, and management. Their focus is to inspire, exemplify, unlock doors and open grand vistas of opportunity for young people. Capital E programmes explore and enhance creative thinking and action. It provides both the awareness of possibilities, and the means to make them reality for children taking part.

National School Curriculum outcomes are fulfilled through booked sessions at the television and sound production studios and the National Theatre for Children.

The public can also enjoy these unique experiences during holiday periods and weekends. In addition, many free family celebrations including cultural and traditional festivals, creative arts, and interactive fun are offered.
